Born in 1902, artist George Frederick Holschuh grew up in Konigsburg, East Prussia. Educated as an architect in Germany, Holschuh also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania. In 1947, Holschuh moved to Tallahassee, Florida, for a professorship; he later became an affiliate artist of the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts. Holschuh is one of the primary artists featured in LeMoyne’s permanent collection.
