Karl Zerbe and Nancy Reid Gunn: Paintings from local collectionsLeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts is starting of 2010 with a bang! From January 22 – February 6, the gallery will feature works from celebrated local artists Karl Zerbe and Nancy Reid Gunn, two forerunners of the encaustic medium. This show will exhibit works from LeMoyne’s permanent collection as well as local collectors, promising that no viewer will leave without seeing something new. Also exhibited will be works from both artists that will be for sale. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to own a piece of LeMoyne and Tallahassee history.
In correlation with this exhibition, LeMoyne begins their 2010 Communication and Creation Workshop Series. Every Saturday following the Friday opening, LeMoyne hosts a half-day retreat featuring a Gallery Talk by one of the artists in the exhibition, a provided lunch, and an afternoon workshop creating the types of work featured in the exhibition. January 23, 2010 begins at 11am with a gallery talk featuring Janice Hartwell, local artist and former student of Nancy Reid Gunn. At noon lunch will be provided, and from 12:30 - 3 Leigh Ann Burchell teaches an encaustic workshop in which students will create their own work of art. Cost is $30 per person. Please contact
