INTRODUCTION TO CERAMICS
This is a course for the true beginner! Students will learn how to throw basic forms: cylinder, bowl, mug, and plate. Students will also learn basic glazing techniques. Dress comfortably and bring a towel to get messy!

Open Studio hours are Saturdays from 8 AM - 12 PM and Tuesdays from 1 - 4 PM.

Fee: $135 for members, $150 for non-members
Supplies: students must purchase clay ($25/bag)

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
New to the sunshine state, Instructor Courtney Ryan is known for her highly organic and intricate ceramic sculptures which appear to be actively crawling through space. With a Master's Degree in Fine Art from Georgia Southern University, Courtney moved to Tallahassee, FL in May 2018 to begin working in the Master Craftsman Studio at Florida State University as a Fine Arts Specialist. At LeMoyne, she enjoys teaching ceramic classes of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, focusing on topics such as hand building, wheel throwing, sculpting, and open studio.
