Intermediate Wheel ThrowingThis 6-week class is designed for intermediate students to progress their wheel-thrown technical skills and overall refinement of their work. The following techniques will be highlighted: pulling (making the most out of your clay), collaring, advanced shaping, and trimming techniques. Each student will be able to work on their own personal hurdles and be guided through them in this individualized learning environment.
Class inclusions will vary based on the skill level and interests of the students and may include throwing off the hump, altering thrown forms, lidded pots, multi-part vessels, sets (matching/nesting), surface texture techniques, and glaze application. Students should be able to: Wedge clay Center 2 pounds of clay on the wheel Throw and trim basic forms (bowl, cylinder) Students are encouraged to bring ideas for projects. Student work will be available for pick up 1-3 weeks after the end of the class. *No class held on July 3. |
