ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Tallahassee artist Diane Dyal is originally from Rhode Island and lived in Boston for many years where she worked as a graphic artist. Having studied art at the Community College of Rhode Island where she received an AA degree in 1980, she is basically self-taught in her graphic design work as well as her painting. In 2008, after moving to Panacea, FL, she entered a contest put out by The Artist’s Magazine with a 30”x30” acrylic painting of her own cat entitled “Calli Cat in the Tub” and won first place in the animal/wildlife division.
The artist has participated in fundraisers such as 621 Gallery, World Ballet, Artopia, and For Cats’ Sake. She had her first solo exhibit of all cat paintings at Renditions, An Art Space in Railroad Square Art Park in February 2013. Interest in the artist followed with gallery representation at 1020 Art at 1020 E. Lafayette St. in Tallahassee.
Back in Tallahassee, she is teaching Beginner’s Acrylic Painting to seniors in Crawfordville and Tallahassee as well as teaching Mini Paint Your Pet workshops at various locations around Tallahassee and appeared on WTXL ABC-TV’s Sunrise Ab-Fab Create segment to promote the classes.
