DUE TO COVID, POUR PARTIES ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Every third Saturday of the month, bring friends or a date to create an exquisite pour painting and enjoy a poured drink to go along with it! There is almost no limit to the different effects you can create with this new and exciting medium. No experience in art is necessary to make a painting you'll want to display at home. Instructor Deborah Van Stratum will teach a new technique each month, such as dirty-pour, open-cup, flip-cup, tree-ring, swiping, chain-pull, puddle-pour, Dutch-pour, flip-and-drag, and dip. The ticket price includes wine and dessert. Each guest will leave with a finished painting, a pair of coasters, and set of magnets. |

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORDEBORAH VAN STRATUM
A 20-year Tallahassee resident, Deborah Van Stratum grew up in College Park, Maryland. Deborah earned her Fine-Arts degree from Montgomery College and her Bachelor of Science Cum-Laude in Human-Ecology from University of Maryland where she studied art history and art gallery management. Deborah applied her design knowledge to painting, ceramics, and textile weaving. After graduation, Deborah demonstrated hand-weaving in a log cabin at Penn-Alps Vintage Artist Museum in Western Maryland’s Appalachian Mountains. Before moving to Tallahassee, Deborah taught high school classes in Western Maryland for ten years, covering diverse such subjects as art, art-history, design, algebra, geometry and human ecology. Deborah has been an International Decorative Artist League (IDAL) member for many years. A prodigious artist accomplished in many types of media, Deborah’s art is displayed at 1020 Gallery and was featured on WCTV television. Deborah was published several times in “Home & Design Magazine”. Deborah founded and managed Painted Inspirations LLC, a Tallahassee-based interior decorative finish business, for 20 years. Deborah’s unique decorative finishes and striking original murals grace many fine private homes and important businesses throughout the greater-Tallahassee community. Deborah taught youth and adult fine art classes in several types of media at LeMoyne Arts for several years. Lately, Deborah has developed a passion for acrylic-pouring and is working diligently to develop her personal skills in this exciting new medium.
