About Art & Soul Celebration
The annual Art & Soul Celebration provides vital funding for LeMoyne Arts' educational and community outreach programs.
On October 15th, 2026, the Simmons Dozier Gardens at LeMoyne will transform into a lively urban food market, with live music, heavy hors d'oeuvres from Tallahassee’s favorite restaurants, and open bars with curated wine pairings and festive specialty cocktails crafted by local mixologists and sommeliers.
Of course, it would not be an Art & Soul Celebration without a curated silent auction, which will include fine art, fashionable jewelry, and exclusive experiences. The evening will culminate with the auctioning of this year’s cover art, donated by renowned fiber artist Deon Lewis.

Oyster Hour | Deon Lewis, 24" x 24", Fiber, 2026
About Our Cover Artist
Deon Lewis was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. She learned to quilt at the young age of 12 and has been honing her talents as a fiber artist for the past 10 years. She has always been drawn to the complexities of nature, especially flowers and animals. Her typical medium of choice includes fabric, fibers, thread, and acrylic paint or ink. Her use of dynamic colors and unique compositions in her artwork helps focus the observer toward the desired idea or emotion. Her hope is to create through fabric, thread, and paint an idea or vision that evokes a personal response from the viewer.
On October 15, LeMoyne’s Art & Soul Celebration will culminate with the auctioning of this year’s cover art, Oyster Hour. All funds raised will support LeMoyne’s year-round arts programming.

Richard L. Puckett Leadership in Arts Award:
Teresa Atkins and Stephanie Whitfield
The Richard L. Puckett Arts Leadership Award recognizes and honors an individual, business, or organization that has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the visual arts in the Tallahassee, Leon County area through innovative, community, or sustained support of artistic activity.
The Arts Leadership Award is named for Dick Puckett, devoted supporter of LeMoyne and two-time Director of the LeMoyne Center for the visual arts.
This year, we are excited to present this award to the two women who helped lay the foundation for Art & Soul as we know it today, Stephanie Whitfield and Teresa Atkins. The outstanding work each has done in Tallahassee to support artists, advocate for arts and culture, and demonstrate to us all what it means to lead by example.
Teresa Atkins, a former LeMoyne Board Vice President and the founding chair of Art & Soul, led the inaugural Art & Soul Celebration in 2008. Stephanie Whitfield revived Art & Soul in 2016 and served as event chair from 2016 - 2021 and co-chair from 2022 2025. Stephanie also served as LeMoyne Board President, and is coming to the end of an 11-year run as a key board member.
