LeMoyne Arts is delighted to anniversary Women Among Us: Portraits of Strength with a whole new collection! Local, accomplished women, aged 65 or older, are featured in this exhibition of environmental photographic portraits. Each large-format portrait is enriched by a short poem and an engaging biographical story. The collection, a collaboration of Becki Rutta, Mary Jane Ryals, Carol Lynne Knight, Linda Hall, and Eleanor Dietrich, was created to honor these powerful women.

Woman Among Us: Portraits of Strength recognizes a diverse group of women, over age 65, by exhibiting large-format photographic portraits & telling their stories. Their strength, spirit, & joy are revealed in these powerful portraits by Becki Rutta. Accompanying texts of interviews & poems tell more about their passions and lifelong dedication to following their dreams & also touching the lives of so many in our community. Exhibits include elected officials, educators, artists, activists & scientists.

LeMoyne's annual Art & Soul Celebration Silent Auction will also be on display during this time. Art & Soul Celebration raises funds to support LeMoyne’s diverse programming and art studio classes offered to our community.

LeMoyne Arts is delighted to showcase the latest collection of the Women Among Us: Portraits of Strength series, with 20 new portraits. Come to this exciting exhibit opening Thursday, September 28th from 5pm – 7:30pm, with speeches at 6pm. Local, accomplished women, aged 65 or older, are featured in this exhibition of environmental photographic portraits. Each large-format portrait is enriched by a short poem and an engaging biographical story. The collection, a collaboration of Becki Rutta, Mary Jane Ryals, Carol Lynne Knight, Linda Hall, and Eleanor Dietrich, was created to honor these powerful women. 
While you’re at the exhibit opening, bid on LeMoyne’s Art & Soul Celebration Silent Auction items, enjoy delicious food by Chicken Salad Chick, craft beer by DEEP Brewing, and enchanting music by They Came From The Same! This beloved local group is a brother-sister duo who sing charming harmonies of Folk, Blues, R&B, & Americana, supported by their expert acoustic instrumentation.

Come enjoy LeMoyne’s latest Muffins & Mimosas event on Saturday, September 30, from 11-12pm! Grab a baked good by Uptown Café, a refreshing mimosa, and view the latest collection of the Women Among Us: Portraits of Strength series, with 20 new portraits. Local, accomplished women, aged 65 or older, are featured in this exhibition of environmental photographic portraits. Each large-format portrait is enriched by a short poem and an engaging biographical story. Artist Talk: Round Table Discussion, Thursday, Oct. 12 from 5:00-6:30pm 
Visit with friends and sip on a craft beer by DEEP Brewing while listening to enchanting music by They Came From The Same duo from 5-5:30pm, and then take your seat to learn about the inspiration behind this powerful creative project. These dynamic women will talk about the origin and meaning of the collection, discuss the creative process, and answer questions from appreciative viewers.

In 1963 LeMoyne Arts was founded by 5 fervent supporters of the arts: Mary Metzke, Clifton Lewis, June Strauss, and Nanette Fisher along with the first President, Al Block. Thanks to the advocacy and dedication of our founders, and the commitment and support of our community, we are here today continuing to grow and encourage life-long learning, appreciation, and participation in the arts for all ages.
In celebration of 60 years of community and art the Art & Soul Celebration will take place on Thursday, October 19 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm in the LeMoyne gardens (125 N. Gadsden St.). Join us in your best black and white cocktail attire as we celebrate with live music, heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bars featuring festive specialty cocktails, and the highly anticipated silent & live auctions featuring fine art and all things good for the soul.

LeMoyne Arts is busy planning its highly anticipated 60th Annual Holiday Show: A Diamond Jubilee! The gallery will be decorated to sparkle and shine while showcasing handmade giftable items and historical tributes to LeMoyne’s 60th anniversary. The Holiday Show will run from November 18 through December 24, 2023, and will feature seven distinct events to engage our diverse community in the holiday spirit, along with offering a beautiful space for private event rentals.  

A major addition to this year’s holiday show is a pop-up Garden Galleria in LeMoyne’s newly renovated gardens. The Garden Galleria is scheduled for opening day, Saturday, November 18, from 10am – 6pm, featuring up to 30 artist booths, live entertainment, children’s activities, libations, and local food trucks. The Holiday Show in the galleries will also be open for visitors to enjoy the holiday décor and kick off their holiday shopping.

This beloved annual show brings in hundreds of visitors to shop for original handmade ornaments, works of art, and crafts for their holiday gift-giving. It’s the perfect time of year to support local artists, engage in community fun, and develop family-oriented holiday traditions to share with each new generation.

Holiday Show Events!

LeMoyne’s 60th Annual Holiday Show Opening Day & Garden Galleria, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, 9am – 7pm
 
Save-the-date! LeMoyne Arts is delighted to announce its 60th Annual Holiday Show grand opening with a special pop-up Garden Galleria event in its newly renovated gardens on Saturday, November 18th.
 
LeMoyne Arts members will get a first look at the show, greeted with mimosas and first pick of the assortment of giftable items, made by dozens of local artists and artisans at the Members Mimosa Mixer & Preview from 9am – 10am. Not a member yet? This is the perfect time to join so you can support this local non-profit and enjoy the benefits associated with your membership.
 
At 10am, the show will open to the public, where you can expect to be dazzled by a diverse assortment of original handmade ornaments, works of art, and crafts, all perfect for your holiday gift-giving. Grab a free reusable shopping bag from Rags2Bags and start in the galleries to shop hundreds of giftable items and then make your way through to LeMoyne’s gardens, where you will be welcomed by up to 30 artist booths, live entertainment, children’s activities, libations, and local food trucks until 6pm for LeMoyne’s new Garden Galleria!
View performances by groups like Hot Tamale, Elsinore Sewing Club, String of Light, and Young Actors Theater all day long. Bring the family for lunch to enjoy food from local vendors such as Street Chefs, LaSalle St Carnival Food, and the Juice Bar. While you visit with friends and shop for your loved ones, there will be bubbles, chalk art, and crafts to entertain the kids! It’s the perfect time of year to support local artists, engage in community fun, and develop family-oriented holiday traditions to share with each new generation.

Cookies & Cocoa: Friday, Nov. 24, 11am – 1pm
 
Bring the whole family to LeMoyne’s 60th Annual Holiday Show: A Diamond Jubilee, to soak in the dazzling holiday décor while you enjoy scrumptious cookies by Uptown Café & a hot cocoa bar (with a splash of spirits) during our Cookies & Cocoa event from 11am – 1pm on Friday, November 24th. Enjoy live music by the Elsinore Sewing Club and a diverse assortment of original handmade ornaments, works of art, and crafts, all perfect for your holiday gift-giving.
 
It’s the most wonderful time of year to support local artists, engage in community fun, and develop family-oriented holiday traditions to share with each new generation.

Hoppy Holidays: Saturday, Dec. 2, from 11-1pm 
 
Dress in your favorite denim & diamonds on Saturday, December 2 from 11am-1pm, while tasting a variety of local craft beers and mixed cocktails by PROOF Brewing! LeMoyne Arts is hosting this new Hoppy Holidays event to celebrate our theme for this year, A Diamond Jubilee, where visitors can enjoy adult libations, delicious food by Chicken Salad Chick, and dance to live music by dynamic duo Saylor Dollar!  
 
Start your Saturday off right at this fun event and get ahead of your holiday shopping by visiting LeMoyne's gallery to shop a diverse assortment of original handmade ornaments, works of art, and crafts -- there’s something for everyone! It’s the most wonderful time of year to support local artists, engage in community fun, and develop family-oriented holiday traditions to share with each new generation.

Dazzling Diamonds Cocktail Party: Thursday, Dec. 7, 5:30-7pm
 
Dress to SHINE at LeMoyne’s Dazzling Diamonds Cocktail Party, Thursday, December 7 from 5:30-7pm! Shop and dance the night away in your shimmering outfits to live music while enjoying signature cocktails and delicious hors d'oeuvres by Il Lusso, as well as oysters on the half-sell by the Oyster Mom herself!

Festive Family Fun Day: Saturday, Dec. 16th, 11 - 2pm
 
Bring the whole family for a special Festive Family Fun Day at LeMoyne Arts, Saturday, December 16, 11am – 2pm! Take care of all your holiday shopping while the kiddos enjoy face painting, make-and-take crafts, live music, and theatrical performances by groups like Hot Tamale, Elsinore Sewing Club, and more…Who knows, there might even be a visit from Santa!
 
There will be sweet treats by Uptown Café, hot beverages by Tikiz Of Tally Food Truck, savory catering by Chicken Salad Chick, and beverages for the parents such as craft beer by DEEP Brewing and refreshing mimosas.  
 
Free for children under 12 years old, $10 entry fee for LeMoyne Arts members, $15 for non-members (includes a free $5 re-entry ticket for the rest of the Holiday Show). Recommended $5 donations for adult beverages.
