Introduction to Stained Glass (11:30AM - 1:30PM)
This class will provide hands-on instruction on how to safely cut glass, solder, and work with lead and copper foil. Students will choose a design, pick out their own glass, and construct one or more windows. Students will begin by completing an introductory project, before graduating to more complex projects and designs. All tools and supplies are provided. In addition, instructor Andrew Miller will demonstrate techniques and tools that may be used for restoring antique stained-glass windows, building lamps using copper foil, working with fused glass, as well as using Glass Eye Software to make your own designs.

I worked as an aquatic biologist for the US Army R&D Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi for most of my career. After retiring, I taught in the Biology Department for five years at Thomas University, Thomasville, Georgia.
Now I have time to pursue my long-term interest in creative writing. Check out my publications in 'Writing.' I am also Creative Nonfiction Editor for Mud Season Review.
In 2019, I started volunteering at several prisons in the Tallahassee area. I started out sponsoring gavel clubs; now I also teach creative writing. Check out my webpage on volunteering in prisons.
I also design and construct new and restore antique windows. See some of my projects in 'Amberstar Glass.' I also like to read, traipse through the woods, and tend my garden.
I was born in Michigan, grew up in Pittsburgh, and have lived in Kentucky, Indiana, and Mississippi. From 2007 to 2019, my wife Kathryn and I summered in Maine and spent winters in Tallahassee. We now live full-time in Florida.
