Chain of Parks Art Festival & Benjamin Peterson
Transcript
One of LeMoyne’s major contributions to our region is the Chain of Parks Art Festival, held annually each April in Tallahassee’s downtown East Park Avenue parks. It is North Florida’s premier outdoor fine art event. This vibrant festival offers a rich tapestry of art, culture, and local heritage, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each spring. The festival features a diverse array of over 150 fine artists, pop-up art studios for children, live entertainment, and local cuisine from regional food trucks and restaurants.
Among the notable artists who frequently participate is Benjamin Peterson, renowned for his creative blend of recycled materials in garden art. In 2024, Peterson generously donated his impressive sculpture, "Rock My World", to LeMoyne Arts, adding to the enhancement of the North Gadsden Street scape, symbolizing the festival's lasting impact on the community. His art, including this piece you will find to your right, reflects a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature, resonating deeply with Tallahassee’s landscapes and community spirit.
The two-day festival, ranked in the Top 10 Fine Art Festivals by Sunshine Artist Magazine for over a decade, is free and open to the public. You can learn more about the festival, its artists, and community impact at chainofparks.org.
