Front Gardens & Entrance
Transcript
Welcome to LeMoyne Arts, Tallahassee’s home for contemporary visual art. When arriving at LeMoyne Arts, you are greeted by a collection of small gardens that provide a preview of the artistic wonders that await. On the left side of the entrance, sits the striking sculpture “Poised” by Paul Tamanian – a local artist who specializes in works of metal. To the right is the June Strauss Memorial Garden featuring the SUSTENIO fountain - a unique creation by artist James Hughes, that offers a tranquil connection to nature for first-time visitors and returning guests. To the right of the fountain is a piece called “Flowers” by Byington Sims, which was donated to LeMoyne by the artist in 1970. As you review the pieces here, we invite you to enter the gallery through the front doors and check in with our team to learn more about LeMoyne and our self-guided audio tour of the grounds and gardens. The best of your tour is yet to come.
