Helen Lind Sculpture Garden
Transcript
Along the northern border of the LeMoyne property, adjacent to the Julian Dozier Patio where you’re standing, you’ll find the Helen Lind Sculpture Garden. Before the expansion of the gardens you are walking through, this space served as the home to LeMoyne’s original sculpture collection. This garden is home to some of LeMoyne’s most treasured sculpture pieces, including works by Fred Holschuh, Ralph Hurst, Byington Sims, and Oscar Sussman. The garden’s namesake, Helen Lind, was a dedicated member of the Tallahassee Garden Club and librarian for the State of Florida’s Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Seed Laboratory. Lind was an adamant supporter of LeMoyne and designed and nurtured the sculpture gardens for many years until her passing at age 84 in 1997. Continue down the path to learn more about the artists whose work resides here.
