Founded in 1988, the reputation and legacy of the Mahaska Whitley Student Exhibition is unparalleled in our community in its support and encouragement of young artists. This art show is open to all high school students in Leon County public and private, and for most of these students, this is their first opportunity to display their work in an established art gallery. By awarding student artists college scholarships and art supplies with your help, we are able to foster their participation and love of the arts into a lifelong passion, and possibly a career.
We invite you today to join our efforts to support the next generation of artists through a donation to the Mahaska Whitley Student Exhibition. Your tax-deductible contribution allows us to stage the show, secure gift certificates for art supply awards, and provide college scholarships for these outstanding young artists. We hope you will contribute to this year’s exhibition. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, in 2023 we were able to award the artistic excellence of 21 Leon County students with college scholarships and art supply gift certificates valued at $7,600.00. Please plan to join us for the reception and awards ceremony celebrating Tallahassee’s young artists, Thursday evening, March 7th, 2024 from 5:30 – 7:30PM, and visit the exhibit before its close on March 30th to see the amazing talents of our local young artists.
