LeMoyne Arts Debuts Self-Guided Audio tour

LeMoyne Arts, a cornerstone of Tallahassee’s cultural and creative landscape since 1963, proudly announces the launch of its new Self-Guided Audio Tour — an inspiring audio storytelling experience that deepens the connection between visitors and the rich artistic legacy that lives on its historic grounds.

Rooted in LeMoyne’s mission to promote education, appreciation, and participation in the contemporary visual arts, this tour invites the public to hear the untold stories behind the works of art, the artists who created them, and the visionaries who shaped the LeMoyne Arts campus. Narrated with warmth and historical insight, the tour covers more than a dozen stops across the property, including sculptures, gardens, studios, and galleries, offering a deeper look at the artists’ inspirations, materials, and cultural impact.

With its new audio tour, LeMoyne Arts furthers its role as a storyteller and steward of North Florida’s artistic heritage, from celebrating established sculptors like Fred Holschuh and Ralph Hurst, to honoring emerging voices who are shaping the region’s visual identity today. Whether you’re a lifelong art lover or first-time visitor, the tour delivers an enriching experience that reveals the heart and soul behind every installation and institution on campus, including the Meginnis-Munroe House, the Carmel “Kelly” Simmons Dozier Garden, and the African American Tribute Garden.

“This tour brings to life the powerful stories behind the artwork, the artists, and the people who have shaped LeMoyne Arts over generations,” said Kelly Dozier, Board Lead Director of LeMoyne Arts. “We believe this immersive experience will enrich every visit, inspire deeper engagement with the arts, and honor the cultural legacy of our community.”

The Self-Guided Audio Tour is available for visitors starting Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the LeMoyne Arts Open House, marking the completion of major campus renovations and the accomplishments of the Art for Always Master Plan Project. From 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, the public is invited to experience the transformation of the LeMoyne Arts campus and discover why the community is celebrating this success.
