Intro to Pottery
This 8-week class is designed to provide students new to clay with a foundation in essential techniques for hand building and wheel throwing with clay.
We will learn the basics of handbuilding using pinch, coil, and slab building techniques. Wheel throwing will focus on centering, opening, and pulling basic forms such as cylinders and bowls. Class discussions will include clay, glaze, equipment, safety, tools, and the firing process to provide students with a fuller understanding of the pottery process.
If you are brand new to clay or looking to reinforce your foundational skills, this class is for you.
Experience Level: All
No prior clay experience required.
Student work will be available for pick up 1-3 weeks after the end of class.
Enrollment includes one 25 lb. bag of clay!
