Meet the Instructor
Mika Fowler
Mika Fowler is a printmaker and photographer based in Tallahassee, Florida, known for his unique approach to letterpress printing and a deep passion for visual arts. He runs Sangha Press, a letterpress printing business.
Fowler employs a 1947 Vandercook 219 Proof Press in his printmaking practice. His work typically consists of hand-set designs printed on high-quality archival paper utilizing vintage metal and wood type, creating editions and unique pieces.
Fowler’s photography has been internationally published and exhibited since the 1980’s, reflecting a rich engagement with the medium.
Collaboration and Workshops
Fowler operates a “closed shop”, meaning he does not focus on retail products like wedding invitations. However, he is open to collaborations with designers or other creatives and offers private letterpress workshops by appointment, promoting hands-on learning experiences in the arts.
Mika Fowler’s work exemplifies a blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic practices, making him a notable figure in Tallahassee’s vibrant arts community.
