Collaborative Linocut Letterpress Workshop

Color, contrast and balance of design will be the words on our tongue as we welcome you to a four-hour letterpress linocut workshop hosted by visiting artist Jim Sherraden, a frequent attendee at the annual Chain of Parks Art Festival, and 2021 cover artist.

Excellence, not perfection is all that's required! Sherraden will bring multiple, odd-shaped pieces of linoleum, with a 'pre-drawn series of circles' connecting each piece of linoleum. The attendee will then have one hour to pick a linoleum segment and carve anything they want. At the end of the 'carving' time, all the linoleum pieces will be reassembled and hand inked by attendees, and printed until everyone has something to take home, as a reminder that we, as a human race, are all connected....
