Soft Pastel Painting Workshop

Learn the foundations of soft pastel painting with artist Beverly Sipos! In this workshop students will create pastel paintings from reference images, while learning about pastel supplies, techniques and how to explore color as value in their artwork.

Students should provide a self-taken reference image (may be floral, architectural, figural, landscape, abstract, etc.) via email to education@lemoyne.org before Thursday, February 19.

Don’t forget to visit the gallery and view ‘Memories of Other Places, Other Times’ featuring the Artists’ League of the Big Bend of Florida on view during gallery hours, January 13 – February 24.

Old paintbrushes for blending, a sketchbook, and any soft pastels you have. Pastels and paper will be supplied!

Meet the Instructor

Beverly Sipos

Beverly Sipos is an accomplished painter with extensive experience in the arts. She earned a Masters degree in Fine Art with a focus on painting and drawing. Her work falls within the realm of Contemporary Realism. The images that interest her include both landscape and figurative subjects. Many private and public collections exhibit her work, and Sipos has won many awards. The artist, originally from Denton, Texas, lived in Illinois for 35 years before relocating to Tallahassee, FL.
