Youth Mixed Media

In this class, students will learn a variety of techniques and materials to make original 2d art pieces. There will be a strong emphasis on concept and skill development, and students will be encouraged to experiment, build their concepts and skills in new methods and materials, and especially have fun making art! Projects include but are not limited to:

- Creating their own handmade sketchbooks to experiment and compile ideas.

- Mixed media artworks combining drawing, painting, and other elements.

- Fiber arts projects, 2d or 3d, combining sewing, embroidery, weaving, and other elements.

I believe in the importance of play and fun in the development of artistic skills and quality of work. Students will be encouraged to pursue what they are most interested in and will receive specialized guided instruction to take their art to the next level. I hope to see you there!

Hi! I’m Sage, an FSU studio art and psychology alumni and visual artist living in Tallahassee, FL. I have been making art since I could pick up a pencil, and I have been studying to be a professional artist for over three years. Much of my work comprises 2D illustrations, ceramics, and digital art, and I love using my sketchbook to experiment with new materials and combine them in different ways. I work great with kids and love inspiring them to express and push themselves while having fun making art!
