Current Call to Artists
Her Temple: Featuring Isabella Al-SharifDeadline: Monday, July 29, 2024 Her Temple, featuring painter and poetess Isabella Al-Sharif, is an enchanting exhibition that embodies portraits of strength, power, and multidimensional layers of feminine divinity. Through intricate brushwork and ethereal gold leaf, her portraits evoke reverence and empowerment, weaving a thread of unity between women of all races, backgrounds, and ethnicities. As viewers immerse themselves in this visual odyssey, they are invited into a world where unity, strength, and spirituality intertwine in poetic harmony, bridging the gap between observer and artwork.
This call to artists is open to all mediums, with an effort to complement Isabella's work. We are seeking applicants who can expand upon this vision by incorporating women from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, while also infusing a spiritual context through symbology that resonates with nature and animal motifs. Exhibit Dates: August 22 - September 21, 2024 |

Join "Words Left Unsaid" A Community Installation Piece
Step into a transformative journey of healing and connection with our community installation art piece, embracing the power of grief work through poetry and letters. Throughout the duration of the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to actively participate in this poignant experience.
Paula Gasparini-Santos, our featured artist and a trauma therapist, envisions a sanctuary where emotions are shared freely, echoing the solemnity of the wailing wall and the serenity of temples. In her own words, Paula aims to create "a humble community space where we can be surrounded in a collective experience of grief, so that we can find a place to land and release this heavy emotion." Be part of this profound experience by contributing your own letter to our installation piece, "Words Left Unsaid." Whether it's unspoken love, suppressed anger, withheld forgiveness, or overdue apologies, your words will find a home in our gallery. Your letters can remain anonymous or bear the names you choose, each one a testament to the human experience. Witness the transformative power of grief as it finds expression through art. Paula has discovered that the act of writing these letters and having them witnessed brings immense relief to participants. By sharing your story, you not only honor your own journey but also contribute to a collective tapestry of healing and resilience. We invite you to join us in writing your letter and sending it to our gallery, becoming an integral part of our exhibition, "From Grief to Grace." Together, let's create a space where grief is acknowledged, embraced, and ultimately transcended. Your participation can make a difference in our community's journey toward healing and grace. |
