Fused GlassThis 6 week class will cover all aspects of beginning fused glass work!
The first class will start with an overview of the craft and the process. There will be plenty of examples and information. We will cover cutting glass, and will be able to complete a piece which will then be fired before the second class. From jewelry findings, wind chime materials, pre-cut glass for coasters, and a wealth of colors and sizes of glass to play with will all be available! The instructor will help with color and design, as well as size and scope of the artwork. Instructor will supply enough glass for projects, and students are welcome to bring their own glass, but all glass must be COE 90. All supplies will be provided under the $20 supply fee. Please wear closed toed shoes to each class. |

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORMarcie Preisler
I grew up in the Republic of Panama, where I developed a love of bright colors and the beauty of the natural world. My high school Art Teacher taught me how to Batik on fabric and I have had an electric frying pan full of wax since 1968. My interest in Art led me to an MA in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico. I spent many years in New Mexico, where bright colors contrast with the arid landscape. We moved to Florida in 2000, where I learned about Fused Glass. I love the colors and the endless possibilities with glass, either alone or integrated with other mediums. I enjoy teaching Art, and have always believed in sharing absolutely everything I know, design, technique, supply sources and tricks of the trade. It is wonderful to see the looks on peoples faces when they see their finished products and love what they have created. |
