Terrie Corbett
Terrie, a painter, works in Encaustic, oil/cold wax, and acrylic. Her process is expressive and intuitive not unlike a visual jazz. She participates in group exhibitions throughout the State of Florida and around the country in the cities like Chicago, Dallas, and Asheville. Recent exhibitions include a 3 person show at Venvi Art Gallery (2023), a one woman show at the Gadsden Art Center and Museum, Munroe Gallery (2022), and a one woman show at the Tallahassee International Airport (2021). She has received awards in regional, national, and international juried exhibitions. (awards listed in her resume). Terrie's work is found in the permanent collections of The Florida State University MoFA, the Florida Department of State, and the Florida House of Representatives. Her work is also found in private collections She served as Artist Liaison on the Florida Committee for the National Museum of Women in the Arts, as Artists’ Representative on the LeMoyne Board, as a board member for The 621 Gallery, and as an Area Director for the Florida Artists Group. Since 2002, Terrie has curated, mounted, or coordinated 10 group exhibitions for regional art spaces and museums. She coordinated 4 group exhibitions on the 22nd Floor of the FL Capitol, two exhibitions in the Walmsley Gallery at the FSU Museum of Fine Arts, an exhibition at the Claude Pepper Museum, and mounted an invitational exhibition at the Gadsden Art Center and Museum.
