Mary Jo Spector
Jewelry
I am a practicing architect who has always pursued art on the side. My primary medium is pen and ink on paper but I also do watercolor painting and ceramics as well as make jewelry. I have a strong interest in sustainability practices in my work and am a LEED - AP professional. I am a member of the LeMoyne Board of Directors, live in Tallahassee, and participate in 8-10 art festivals and shows a year. ** Mary Jo Spector is an architect by training and profession, which shows in her fascination with details and buildings. She attended Penn State and squeezed in as many art classes as she could. Since childhood she has drawn and painted, particularly animals and landscapes. She prefers to work from life, sitting at the edge of a lake to capture the storks while they feed or paint the clouds right as the light hits them. As a year-round resident of Tallahassee, she participates in many of the local festivals including Springtime Tallahassee, Chain of Parks, Tallahassee Nurseries Show, and Market Days as well as traveling to art festivals outside the area.
