Stained Glass Mosaic or Stepping StoneA mosaic is a surface decoration made up of closely set, usually variously colored, small pieces of glass, tile, ceramic, or stone. In this class students will construct their own mosaic using a design of their choice. Everyone will learn to safely cut or break the glass then assemble pieces on a flat surface using glue and grout. Students have the option to create a mosaic piece on wood or on a concrete stepping stone.

Location: Glass Studio, Education Center
(121 N. Gadsden St.) Instructor: Shea Webb Tuition: $100 for members/$110 for non-members (Tuition includes a $30 supply fee for materials) Supplies: All needed materials and tools are included in tuition, although students may bring other objects (pebbles, ceramic pieces, etc.). ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORSHEA WEBB
Shea Webb has worked with stained glass for two years; she’s modified patterns and uses them to build steppingstones from the ground up. She learned this craft by studying with an instructor, Andrew Miller and her two mentors as well, Rita Riccardi of Glass Impressions New York, and Carol Webb of C3 Studios Inc. Georgia (no relation to self). She believes that using artwork to express yourself is a unique and creative way to explore our talents. |
